Education about the legal rights, robust enforcement of existing laws, and societal campaigns highlighting successful women who defied dowry pressures can catalyze a shift in collective consciousness.
Moreover, encouraging narratives that celebrate women’s professional achievements independently of their marital status can help recalibrate societal values. Financial incentives for families that prioritize education over marriage, and stringent penalties for those demanding dowry, could also deter the practice.
